The 2024 Union Pipeline Program will assist Greater Hazelwood residents with an interest within local trades in the construction industry. This opportunity will provide access to the Laborers Union of Western PA, Local 373. Individuals who complete the entry apprenticeship process (40 hours/1 week) will then be able to work on active construction site and/or on the University of Pittsburgh Cell and Gene Bio project.
POORLAW (People of Origin Rightfully Loved And Wanted) and GH-CARED (Greater Hazelwood Coalition Against Racial And Ethnic Disparities) are advertising for the hiring of an individual or corporation to conduct a market feasibility study to establish an employer-community-owned cooperative grocery store in the Greater Hazelwood community.

Our efforts are finally being recognized as the unit is now scheduled to be in the community 2 days a week.
