Equity One-Stop Shop Approaching Funding Goal

POORLAW and Praise Temple Deliverance Church are pleased to announce that we are close to reaching our $1.7 million goal for the establishment of the Equity One Stop Shop Resource Center (EOSSRC) to be established in the former Good Shepherd Church located at 124 Johnston Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15207. We have recently been awarded a $137,000 grant from Avenues of Hope ARPA grant. We were also awarded a $500,000 funding from RACP, $200,000 from the URA ACRE funding, $328,190 from Pittsburgh History and Landmarks foundation, and $40,000 from Bridgeway Capital.

We are asking for any assistance anyone can give in closing the remaining gap of $500,000. The Equity One-Stop Shop will serve as a place of worship; community gathering space; after-school facility; and local hub for economic opportunity services such as workforce development and entrepreneurship training. It will also create one affordable housing unit.

We would like to thank Senator Jay Costa, State Representative Aerion Abney, Councilwoman Barb Warwick, Urban Redevelopment Authority, Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation, Neighborhood Allies, Bridgeway Capital, and all the residents that have participated in this process so far of making our dreams come true. Stay tuned for more news.

Equity One-Stop Shop

The Equity One-Stop Shop Resource Center’s primary goal is to create opportunities for Hazelwood residents that have traditionally been disconnected from regional prosperity. The project will deliver workforce development, entrepreneurial training, support for neighborhood youth, and spiritual nourishment for the community. It is our hope that the completion of this project will act as a beacon of hope within the community and set a precedent of positivity moving forward.

3 Bedroom Residential Unit

We are pleased to announce that the renovations of the 3 bedroom residential unit, which is attached to the church property has been successfully renovated and is scheduled to be available for rent by July 15th.
